Work Progress Project (WPP)
Funder: NYC Center for Economic Opportunity
Project Time Period: 2016-Present
Project Category: Youth Development/Workforce Development/Summative Evaluation
About WPP: The Work Progress Program (WPP) is a program of the NYC Center for Economic Opportunity (CEO). WPP delivers short-term, part-time jobs as well as wrap-around services to low-income youth who participate in programs offered by youth-serving community-based organizations in NYC many of whom are out-of-school and unemployed.
The Work: MAI is conducting a mixed-methods evaluation of the Work Progress Program (WPP) for the NYC Center for Economic Opportunity (CEO). The two central components of this evaluation are the quantitative study which focuses on several key outcomes for young adults who participate in WPP: program completion, employment, and educational achievement. The qualitative study examines how WPP is being implemented by the WPP providers and the benefits and challenges of implementing WPP. Employment records are being collected by the evaluation team from the NY DOL, and educational achievement data will be gathered from CUNY.
The report on WPP is scheduled to be released in 2019.
